Poland, 1990. The winds of change are blowing in Poland. It’s the first euphoric year of freedom after the collapse of the communist system, but also a time of uncertainty for the future. Four apparently happy women of different ages decide that it’s time to change their lives, fight for their happiness and fulfil their desires. They all live in the same massive block of flats, an environment that seems to stifle the residents, but is intertwined in their lives and hopes. There is the young mother in an unhappy marriage, the mature woman fascinated by a former beauty queen and the teacher in love with her student’s father. An expressive portrait of four very different women dealing with loneliness, and in need of affection. They each seek change in their personal lives in a period of fundamental political change in Poland.
