Eva, a recovered alcoholic and former famous actress, would do anything to regain the love of the one she hurt the most: her son. Many years ago she abandoned him for her career. Now she is coming out of rehab determined to rectify something for which she has lacked the courage for years. She returns to her small apartment with an old poster recalling her days of glory and is determined to do the right thing. She sets off to visit her son who lives in a small town where she put him as a child to be brought up by her parents, when her ex-husband, a film director, refused to adopt him. Her son and her ill elder sister, whom her son considers as his real mum, reject her. Eva tries hard to get a second chance, but isn’t it too late? This subtle, yet harsh psychological drama about a family, alcoholism and efforts to regain one’s dignity is the feature debut of Martin Škop, with the excellent Emília Vášáryová in the leading role.
