The Awards Ceremony of the 9th edition of CinEast film festival Luxembourg will take place on Friday 21 October at 20.30 at the Cinémathèque.

The (Un)welcome special evening (Neimënster) will include a debate on the topic of immigration, in the presence of two representatives of the Red Cross and two refugees.

Explore Warsaw's nightlife via the Sundance-awarded documentary, with the main protagonist. Followed by a party at Rocas.

Live alternative rock soundtrack to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari delivered by the Polish band The Washing Machine at Cinémathèque on Friday 8.30 pm.

The vernissage of the Away From Home photo exhibition takes place from 17.30 at the Caves voutées (Neimënster). Free entrance during the whole festival.

CinEast 2016 Charity Project will support the NGO Legis (MK) that helps refugees (mainly children) in the Balkans. The collected money will be used to purchase a projector. More info

The CinEast 2016 press conference will be held on 20 September at 2.30 p.m. at the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg (17, place du Théâtre).

The 2016 festival thematic cycle "Away From Home", reflected in films as well as the eponymous photography exhibition, will address various issues related to migration, refugees, expats, homeless people, Roma...

The German actor Ulrich Matthes, the Latvian director Laila Pakalnina, and the Serbian actor&director Mirjana Karanović are among the first confirmed special guests. 

The 9th edition of CinEast film festival Luxembourg will take place from 6 to 23 October 2016.

The 8th edition of CinEast attracted over 9500 people, of which 7000 in cinemas, 1900 at special events and 600 at school screenings. Many thanks to all!
