November is a dark, compelling, fairy-tale love story set during the feudal era in Estonia in an incredible, extraordinary world of werewolves, ancestral spirits and metaphorical creatures. Liina, a peasant girl, falls in love with Hans, yet her love is doomed to fail, since Hans has fallen in love with someone else, a young and beautiful baroness. The life of peasants is soaked in an incredible mix of abundant religious beliefs, their folkloric world filled with magic, ghosts and animistic spirits. Does pure love stand a chance in this troubled world of unfortunate, lost souls? Stunning black and white photography as well as dramatic and mystic music, composed by one of the most original Polish avant-garde musicians, Jacaszek, will carry you away in this romantic, crazy and magnetising vision, so disturbing that it will make you shiver.

Based on the Estonian bestselling novel Rehepapp by Andrus Kivirähk, November is a unique mixture of magic, black humour and romantic love.
