Perseverance is a film that combines different stories about individuals from various countries, spanning over sixty years and thus symbolically covering the approximate period of a single human life. Each of the stories is based on true accounts and events, sourced from newspaper articles, statements, or media reports. The collage of internal monologues forms a whole which transcends the individual stories. A homage to life even in its toughest form, the film presents a mosaic of the different fates underlying human existence. The collage is composed of moments we might prefer to avoid or not to discuss, a kaleidoscope of memories and secrets we keep to ourselves. Witness the cacophony of reality where the tragic contrasts with the banal, the sublime with the profane, cruelty with beauty, and the crowded with the lonely.
