A dazzling mix of animation and documentary from the award-winning, Warsaw-based Platige Studio, depicting the Angola war as experienced by the world famous Polish war correspondent and photographer - Ryszard Kapuściński. The film follows Ryszard brilliant veteran journalist, idealist and friend of lost causes and revolutions. At the Polish Press Agency, he convinces his boss to send him to Angola where a bloody civil war has broken out on the eve of the country’s independence. He embarks on a seemingly suicidal road trip into the heart of the civil war. There, he witnesses once again the dirty reality of war and discovers a sense of helplessness previously unknown to him. Angola will change him forever: He left Poland a reporter but returned a writer. Many years in the making, we can see on the screen the results of a titanic oeuvre : a well-researched storyline, extremely detailed animation, breathtaking epic scenes, virtuoso mise-en-scene moving smoothly between documentary and animation footage. Premiered to acclaim at Cannes Film Festival, Another Day of Life is a hypnotizing hybrid, featuring one of the most fascinating personalities in the world of journalism, which stays with the viewer long after the screening.
