Motivated by desire for demographic change and wishing to contribute to the birth rate of a small town on a Dalmatian island, the young priest Don Fabijan starts secretly puncturing all the packaged condoms before they are sold. He teams up with a simple-minded local newsstand owner and a mad pharmacist and the three of them successfully abolish contraception on the island. After initial success, with numerous births and marriages, things start to get complicated. Finally, the bishop comes to the island and the situation gets completely out of control. The latest comedy offering from the well-known Croatian director Vinko Brešan juggles with sensitive topics such as abortion, infertility, faith and religion with convincing ease. The film has been distributed in over 30 countries and, among other successes, it was nominated for Best Comedy in the 2013 European Film Awards.
