Tolik comes from a long line of doctors, but he is unhappy with his profession of psychotherapist. Tolik hates his patients, and finally he loses his job after fighting with some of them. Tolik faces this incident as a positive turnaround in his life. Finally his dream of becoming a "free" poet has a chance of coming true and, maybe if he's lucky enough, fame and fortune will come soon. Trying to incarnate his new ideas, Tolik faces a strange and burlesque Ukrainian reality that he hadn’t noticed earlier. “Although the story is in some ways familiar, Vasyanovych ties together his exploration of human desires, shortcomings, pain, and enthusiasms in an unconventional way using despair, humor, and yes, even poetry.” Ali Kinsella, Ukrainian Film Club of Columbia University.
