Bucharest, 1959. A band of bored Romanian freedom fighters disguised as a movie crew spectacularly rob the Romanian National Bank by making it look like a film shoot. The country is in uproar and the regime needs to save its face. The four men and one woman are arrested, tried, convicted and, while waiting for their execution, they are forced to star in a propaganda film about their crime... Based on true events!
In this English-language film the renowned director Nae Caranfil (Asphalt Tango, Filantropica) turns an unbelievable, tragic story into a cleverly shaped, entertaining, comic satire. Best Romanian film of 2014.
