A couple and their teenage son eke out a living on a hilltop, doing the laundry for local hotels. The water supply is inconsistent and they often find themselves without any water. Their simple life is overturned by the arrival of a father-and-daughter team of a diviner and well-digger, who promise to bring an end to this precarious existence by finding a water source on their arid hill. The family’s harmonious world shatters into pieces. Everyone loves and hates everyone else. Ultimately, the newcomers quench a thirst that is much stronger than the one for mere water.
Tsotsorkova’s slow-paced symbolic psychological debut boasts beautiful scenery and - within the hilltop laundry microcosm – delivers inconspicuous yet sophisticated hints that define the relationships between the main characters.

Un couple et leur fils adolescent vivent dans une maison sur une colline et gagnent leur vie en faisant la lessive pour des hôtels locaux. Leur vie simple est bouleversée par l'arrivée d’un père et de sa fille, qui sourcier, qui puisatier. Ils promettent de résoudre le problème d’eau dans le village. Les étrangers apaiseront une soif beaucoup plus grande que celle de l’eau.
