Debt-collector Lucek is a ruthless yuppie who works his job with unreasonable conviction. His position makes him feel powerful and self-confident, and that slowly takes on alarming proportions. Lacking in scruples, he even tampers with life-saving hospital equipment to which patients are hooked up. Casually ruining lives, he ruthlessly hunts down his victims and their undeclared earnings, even willing to dig up graves to find hidden stashes of money. One day he is confronted with two incidents that blast through his emotional defences. For the first time in his life, he begins to give some serious thought to what he does. But does good always automatically replace evil? And starts with the truth, for which should you fight? The Collector won numerous awards and was also Poland's entry for an Oscar.
