Miha Knific

Miha Knific was born in 1976, in Kranj, Slovenia. He graduated in Sculpting at the Ljubljana Academy for Fine Arts (1995-2000) and did his Master's degree at the Kungliga Konsthogskolan (Royal College of Arts) in Stockholm, Sweden (2005-2006). In 2007, he made a shift from conceptual artist to filmmaker, launching his career with his first film Noč (Let me sleep / En Natt) anddeciding to dedicate himself to filmmaking. He directed a number of short films, TV ads and videos. Vztrajanje (Perseverance, 2017) is his first feature film, a poetic collection of various stories about people from the past to the present, located all around the world. In his films, he focuses primarily on human stories and exploring extreme situations and their outcomes, with particular interest in the concept of freedom created by these situations.
