Andy Schleck

Andy Schleck, born in 1985, is a former Luxembourg professional cyclist who was the ‘2010 Tour de France’ winner. The first time he appeared in the spotlight of the international cycling scene, where the name Schleck isn't unknown due to the exploits of his father Johny and his older brother Frank, was in 2007 when he won the jersey for best young rider and 2nd place in the overall classification of the Giro d'Italia at the age of 21. In the following three years he won the classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège (2009), claimed the best young rider jersey three consecutive times in the Tour de France, finishing 11th, 2nd and 1st in the overall classification, thus becoming the first Luxembourg Tour winner since 1958. The following year he managed to realise one last podium (2nd) at the 'Grande Boucle' framed by his brother Frank finishing 3rd. Recently retired from professional cycling, Schleck nowadays runs a specialised shop ‘Andy Schleck Cycles’ in Itzig, Luxembourg.
