Magdalena Popławska

Magdalena Popławska is a Polish actress, who graduated from Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Cracow (2004) and gained a scholarship from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. After many years of collaboration with numerous theatres around Poland, Popławska finally joined the Nowy Teatr team in Warsaw, (created by outstanding Polish director Krzysztof Warlikowski), and soon became one of his leading actresses (Krum, Anioły w Ameryce, (A)pollonia, Koniec, Opowieści afrykańskie wg Szekspira, Kabaret warszawski). Popławska made her film debut in Przemysław Wojcieszek’s A Perfect Afternoon in 2005 and appeared, among others, in Between Two Fires directed by Agnieszka Łukasiak, A Simple Story About Love by Arkadiusz Jakubik, Fear of Falling by Bartosz Konopka and The Girl from the Wardrobe by Bodo Kox. In 2012 she was nominated for the Swedish Guldbagge film award in the category of Best Female Leading Role for her performance in Between Two Fires. Her role in the Polish televison series Usta usta (Mouth to Mouth) brought her immense popularity.
