33-year-old Tamás Merthner is heartbroken after his girlfriend Anna, who is on a scholarship in Paris, breaks up with him. While wallowing in self-pity, hitting a creative dead end as a filmmaker and being pressured to accept a compromising job offer from an advertising agency, Tamás takes an escapist trip down memory lane to meet his childhood and teenage selves.

Built on imaginative storytelling and formal lo-fi experimentation and filled with references to the history of cinema and popular culture, Bad Poems is an entertaining low-budget urban pop-rom-dramedy which playfully juggles its protagonist´s sorrows and doubts. This film received several awards at 2019 Torino Film Festival.

Awards:

Torino FF 2018 (AVANTI Award, Scuola Holden Award for Best Script and Jury's Special Mention)
Monte-Carlo FF 2019 (Best Film)
