Mâlăncrav, a village in today’s Romania. Many are heading to Western Europe for precarious short-term jobs, hoping to contribute to a better life in the village. These never-ending back and forth trips affect the lives of all local families. Through intimate portraits of those who stay and keep the village alive, the film tells the stories of Natalia, Alina, Andrei, Ioan and Niculae, vigorous and disillusioned women, still carefree young people and the last shepherds clinging to their land and their flocks.
