When a happily married couple arrive at a foster home to adopt the perfect little girl they have been promised, they are instead offered a rebellious 12-year-old boy. The foster home’s manager admits the mistake but insists that the couple take the boy for a “trial day”. The boy appears to know that he won’t be adopted and seems set on giving his one-day foster parents a hard time. The psychological motives driving the three main characters are explained through flashbacks. By the end of the day, all three of them will have questioned the meaning of love, abandonment, patience, trust and belonging.
A touching film about the most important things in life.
