Mihály Schwechtje

Mihály Schwechtje is a Hungarian film director who has made several award winning short films. In his recent projects he is especially interested in society’s current problems, his characters often being victims of modern society, and his first feature film Hope You’ll Die Next Time :) is about the young victims of cyberbullying. Schwechtje also received a PhD in Arts from the University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest, his doctoral thesis focusing on finding a methodology to teach auteurs of films. He has also been directing the series In Treatment for the Hungarian HBO, working on a play entitled The Legacy and is currently developing his sophomore feature.
