Slobodan Maksimović was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. He graduated in film directing from Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television. His shorts 1/2 and AgapE were screened at over 30 international film festivals and won 14 international awards. His first feature film, Thanks for Sunderland (2012), received a number of awards at the Slovene Film Festival, including the Best Film award. His second feature film Nika (2016) won “Best Youth Film'' award at Motovun Film Festival. His recent short film The Invisible Hand of Adam Smith (2017) has been screened at numerous festivals, winning more than 15 awards.
