Nicolas Steil is a Luxembourgish producer and director. He began his professional career as a journalist. He carried out numerous field reports, particularly in Lebanon during the war. In 1986, he founded his own production company, “Iris Productions”, as one of the first production companies in Luxembourg. Over the years, Iris Group has grown into an international production and distribution company, with branches in Belgium, Germany and France. Nicolas Steil has now produced and co-produced more than fifty films including, recently, two seasons of the international hit series Bad Banks, the western Never Grow Old, directed by Ivan Kavanagh with Emile Hirsch and John Cusack, and Jayro Bustamante’s second feature Tremors (2019). In addition to his career as a producer, Nicolas Steil has directed five plays, collaborated on several movie scripts and directed two feature films: The Undercover War (2009) and The Way to Happiness (2021), which stars Simon Abkarian and Pascale Arbillot and premiered at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival in August 2021.
