Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk

Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk is a Ukrainian author and filmmaker, and a graduate of the National I.K. Karpenko-KaryTheatre, Cinema and Television University in Kyiv. He has participated in the Berlinale Talents and Locarno Film Academy and is the founder of the script platform Terrarium.

He first drew attention with his short film Weighlifter, a contender for the European Film Awards and the winner of the Best Short Film Award in Angers. His first feature Pamfir (co-produced by the Luxembourgish company Wady Films) was supported by TorinoFilmLab, MIDPOINT and Cannes’ Cinéfondation and was presented at the Cannes festival this year. CinEast 2022 has the honour of hosting the Luxembourgish premiere of Pamfir, as well as Dmytro’s latest short documentary film, the Liturgy of Anti-Tank Obstacles, which already premiered at the Sarajevo film festival in August.
