Kolya and Vasily, two Ukrainian brothers, were abandoned by their father when they were children. Many years later, they find out that their father is actually in Luxembourg, far away from them, and he’s dying. There are plenty of beautiful places to die. Luxembourg is not one of them. Beautiful or not, Luxembourg makes dying very expensive. When the twin brothers hear about the whereabouts of their long-absent father, they set out on a journey to see him one last time.
This is an exuberant, unbridled and impertinent comedy from the director of My Thoughts Are Silent (screened at CinEast 2019) that does not always take seriously its melodrama.
The film premiered at the Venice film festival in September 2022 in the section Orizzonti.
