Iryna Tsilyk

Iryna Tsilyk is a Ukrainian filmmaker and writer, based in Kyiv. Her award-winning documentary The Earth Is Blue as an Orange won the Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020. Iryna has also written 8 books (poetry, prose, children’s books) published in Ukraine. Her poems, short stories and essays have been translated into many languages and were presented in international publications, literary festivals and events. Over the years of Russia’s war in Ukraine, Iryna has taken part in different literary readings, documentary shootings and tutoring for children in the war zone. Rock. Paper. Grenade (2022), based on the novel Who Are You? by Artem Chekh, is her first fiction feature.
