Arta Dobroshi is an actress born in Kosovo who grew up between Prishtina, Tirana and North Carolina. She is often cited for her striking presence and ability to breathe authentic life into the roles she plays. Dobroshi shot to international renown for her role in Lorna's Silence directed by the Dardenne brothers and was nominated for Best Actress at the European Academy Awards and the Cannes Festival. Arta's film Trois Mondes by Catherine Corsini won her Best Actress at the WIFT'S in LA and a nomination at the Cesar Awards. She has also been awarded the Berlinale’s Shooting Star Award. Her latest film Stray, directed by Dustin Feneley, premiered at the 40th Moscow IFF. Besides acting, Dobroshi is a peace advocate. During the Kosovo War she worked with the International Medical Corps, and with NATO troops after the intervention, helping people returning to their homes.
