Sergej Stanojkovski

Sergej Stanojkovski, born in Zagreb, is a director and producer who grew up in Germany and graduated with a Master of Arts degree from the FAMU (Czech Republic). After working on commercials, documentaries and short films, he co-wrote and directed his first feature film Kontakt which won many awards and was Macedonia’s submission for the 79th Academy Awards. After a series of short films and work for the platform LAB2010, he launched and produced Avvantura Film Festival and Matchmaking, nowadays taking place on the island of Vis in Croatia. Currently, he is developing his feature film Life Begins (Freestyle) as an international co-production, co-written with Croatian screenwriter Ognjen Sviličić, while also shooting a short film All the Lights based on a short story by the German writer Clemens Meyer. In 2018, in cooperation with Pula Film Festival, he launched the first industry event at Pula “Matchmaking forum”, acting as its Head of Industry.
