Razvan Radulescu

Razvan Radulescu is one of the most prolific Romanian scriptwriters. As a director, he has only made one film. He represents the so-called post-revolution cinema in Romania and is part of its most successful generation of filmmakers. Radulescu studied Philology at the University of Bucharest and Opera Directing at the Music Academy of Bucharest. His literary debut was a collection of anthologies in 1985 and he has written two novels. As a scriptwriter, he has collaborated with numerous directors on some of the most important films of the “Romanian New Wave” - Cristi Puiu (Stuff and Dough, The Death of Mr. Lazarescu), Radu Muntean (The Paper Will Be Blue, Tuesday After Christmas), Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days), Calin Peter Netzer (Child's Pose). He also worked as a “script doctor” on Gutland, the Luxembourg submission for the 2019 Academy Award. Since 2006, he has been a frequent guest of ESAV in Marrakech and York University in Toronto at seminars on dramaturgy. He has been a Chair in Film at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe, since 2013.
