Maria Linde, an internationally renowned Jewish Polish poet, lives with her loving family in a beautiful villa in the scenic Italian countryside. When confronted with critical reactions following her controversial speech on a terrorist attack that has just stricken the Italian capital, Maria has to face the social consequences of her actions.
Jacek Borcuch's fifth film (Lasting, All That I Love) focusing on a charismatic, provocative artist (a compelling performance by one of Poland's most renowned actresses, Krystyna Janda) is a metaphorical tale about a divided Europe on the brink of changes and its morality and identity that questions the limits of freedom and artistic expression. A politically engaged, tasteful drama on complex family relations firmly set in a sociopolitical context of contemporary Europe, Dolce Fine Giornata is an insightful and intriguing art-house piece. The film premiered in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition of the Sundance Film Festival.
