Marija Kavtaradze

Marija Kavtaradzė, born in 1991, is a Lithuanian film director & scriptwriter. She graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Film Directing studies, in 2014. One of her latest short fiction films I’m Twenty Something won the Best Student Film award at the Lithuanian Film Academy Awards Silver Crane 2015. Marija Kavtaradzė was also a co-writer of the feature film The Saint  directed by Andrius Blaževičius, which premiered at Busan IFF and Warsaw ISFF in 2016. Her debut feature Summer Survivors premiered at Toronto IFF, won the Best Baltic film award at the Tallinn IFF and was screened at many festivals around Europe. Kavtaradzė now works as a screenwriter, casting director and is currently developing her next feature.
