CINÉGASTRONOMY

As every year, there will be several events at the 16th edition at which you will be able to indulge yourself with a little taste of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Focus on Ukraine will include several opportunities to discover genuine Ukrainian flavours. During the Opening event with the concert of the Carpathian band Yagody (Melusina 7/10), you will also be able to celebrate Ukrainian culture through a selection of traditional hearty warm and cold dishes served on the upper floor of the venue. Ukrainian snacks and perhaps some eau-de-vie will be served at the Ukrainian short films evening (Neimënster 19/10). Also bring your appetite to the Closing event with the live show of Äl Jawala (Rotondes, 20/10) and make your stomach happy with Ukrainian pierogi, borscht and other specialities of the region. The Ukrainian food served during the festival will be prepared by the Ukrainian association LUkraine asbl and refugees currently residing in Luxembourg, and the proceeds will go to the association and the CinEast4Ukraine charity project

A selection of refreshments and snacks will also be available during or after selected events held at Neimënster and Cinémathèque - short film marathons, ciné-debates, as well as screenings with guests. Some typical drinks and snacks prepared by collaborating associations and embassies await you at the national evenings (Serbian, Czech, Croatian, Slovenian) too. And finally, children and parents attending the Kids Show (Neimënster 14/10) can enjoy warm and cold drinks, as well as homemade cakes, and support our charity project with a delicious sweet taste in their mouths.
