The 12th edition of CinEast attracted over 11200 people, with more than 9100 spectators in cinemas, which is the highest number ever. Many thanks to all and see you in 2020.
The Awards Ceremony of the 12th edition of CinEast took place on Saturday 19/10 at 8pm at the Cinémathèque Luxembourg. Followed by the screening of the film The Whistlers by Corneliu Porumboiu.

The festival's main photography exhibition Down with Walls! installed in the Caves voûtées of Neimënster will be accessible until 22 October.
The screenings of the three finalists competing for the European Parliament's LUX Prize will take place on 14, 19 and 21 November at Ciné Utopia.
The Latvian film Oleg by Juris Kursietis, the winner of the Grand Prix of CinEast 2019, will be screened once again on Sunday 20/10 at 20:30 at the Cinémathèque.

Václav Marhoul's monumental film The Painted Bird based on the novel by Jerzy Kosiński screened exclusively on Wed 16/10 at 20.45 at Ciné Utopia. Tickets at the venue only.
The Lithuanian evening organised in the framework of our Focus on Lithuania on Friday 11/10 at Cinémathèque features two films, guest Marija Kavtaradze (Summer Survivors) and Lithuanian drinks & snacks.
An evening dedicated to independent travelling with the film Trabant: There And Back Again and debate with director Dan Přibáň and travellers Anabela & Jorge Valente of diariesof magazine.
The short film Is That, Like, Your Real Job? by Lithuanian/Luxembourgish director/actress Gintare Parulyte is screened in World Premiere as part of the Short fiction films marathon on 9/10, 18.30 at Cinémathèque.
The opening of the 12th edition was very successful, with over 270 people attending the ceremony and the screening of the opening film My Thoughts Are Silent. See photos in our gallery.
The festival will open with a special screening of the Ukrainian film My Thoughts Are Silent by Antonio Lukich, which will be screened right after the Official Opening ceremony (3/10 at 7pm, Neimënster)

The Press conference of the 12th edition of CinEast will take place on 18 September 11 am at the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg

An extensive photographic exhibition installed in Neimënster will complement the thematic cycle "Down with Walls". Vernissage is planned for 3 October at 17.30.
CinEast 2019 will have plenty to offer to music fans: Balkan music performances by Shantel & Bucovina Club Orkestar and Malaka Hostel, modern Slavic folk by Krambabula, Apero Jazz by Artur Dutkiewicz Trio, electro ciné-concert by Karpov Not Kasparov & more.
